Following are some helpful hints and information regarding your partcipation
in any Namasté yoga sesssion.
If you have any additional questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.
• Please be prompt. Plan on arriving 10-15 minutes prior to the start of
your class. We lock the doors one minute before the class starting time.
• New students will
be asked to sign a standard health club release form before participating. Our classes involve physical movement, if you have
a health challenge, please check with your physician before participating in a class. We need to know if you have special
physical limitations or if you are taking any medications that might make you dizzy.
• Eat
very little in the two hours prior to class. A full stomach can result in nausea or an uncomfortable experience.
•
Group classes begin with participants seated in a crossed leg position, with modifications if necessary. A few centering breaths
and the toning of "Om" are used to set up a quiet, contemplative atmosphere.
Classes end with "Om Shanti", meaning peace, and "Namasté" , an honoring of one another's inner connection.
•
Mature, well behaved children aged 12 and older may register in classes where a parent, grandparent or guardian are also a
registered participant.
• Wearing jewelry may interfere with your comfort in some positions.
•
Please refrain from wearing perfume, scented after shave and lotions. Lotions may create a slipping hazard in certain positions.
Also, many students are sensitive to scents.
• Currently, classes are for students who can
get up and down off the floor relatively easily. Our hopes are to start a Chair Yoga class for those who can't. If you
would be interested please let us know!
• Our classes are not suitable for pregnant women.
•
Cell phones should be turned off. For on-call medical personnel and other special circumstances, please set phones to quiet/vibrate
mode.
